Ryan Young – Accounting Associate II
Ryan grew up in San Diego (Pacific Beach) and graduated from Mission Bay High School. He started to work for Henry’s Marketplace when there were only 11 locations, now Sprouts. Ryan was with Sprouts for 20 years when he moved to FLORES to pursue a career in HR. He left FLORES during the pandemic and spent the following two years expanding his HR knowledge in the food manufacturing industry. He moved to Indiana in late 2022 where he worked in the non-profit field for the Humane Society.
Ryan came back to FLORES to be part of a family-oriented and hard-working team atmosphere, which he tried to find after leaving FLORES but was never successful. He is excited that he found his way back saying, “I am here to stay!” and now is in the accounting department in an AAII role. His favorite aspect of FLORES is the continuous strive to better operate by reaching out to staff for feedback. He loves that the company is constantly “upping” its game every year with new goals and objectives.
In his spare time, Ryan is an avid reader and enjoys mostly horror Sci-Fi books (huge Stephen King enthusiast). He also enjoys flower and vegetable gardening, crocheting, going to the movies, working out on Tonal Machine (home gym), listening to vinyl records (mostly new wave 80’s music) and volunteering for Indiana’s LGBT Youth Group.
A move back to San Diego is possible as there is just no other place like it, he says. The Midwest is great but there is too much snow and no burritos! Hopefully he can make that happen and his goal of furthering his accounting skills to reach for the next step as an Accounting Manager.
