Employee Spotlight- Michelle Cole

Michelle Cole – Accounting Associate I

Michelle was born and raised in Santee and attended West Hills High School. She then attended Grossmont College and got an Associate’s degree in art and social sciences. In June 2022, she moved to Avondale, AZ where she currently resides with her fiancé and 2-year-old son.

Her first job was as a daycare assistant in Santee, which she worked at for about 7 years. She then worked at a company for 5 years before moving to Colorado. Michelle wanted a company she could grow with and reached out to friends and family for a referral. That’s when she heard about FLORES! Michelle is an Accounting Associate I and just passed her 2-year anniversary. She wants to gain more skills and confidence to move up to an AA II. She appreciates the company’s flexibility and remote work option since AZ likely won’t be where she will reside forever. In the future, she would like to move back to San Diego, plan a wedding and buy a home.

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys reading, especially books about Tudor England and going to the zoo or aquarium, especially now with a toddler. When she comes back to San Diego for vacation, she loves going to OB and hanging out with friends. Or she will grab a bite to eat at Eastbound in Lakeside or get Pho at the OB Noodle House since those are two of her favorite spots.

Michelle likes the following quote: “Stop letting people who do so little for you, control so much of your mind, feelings, and emotions.” It has stuck with her for years as it helps her get past any hurt or anger that can be held on to for too long.
