Maria Keefer – HR/Payroll Associate II
Maria grew up in Alpine, CA, and has lived all over east county, including the small town of Julian; she now resides in Idaho. In her spare time, Maria loves to garden, read, crochet and watch a lot of tv.
Maria’s work experience started in the hospitality industry, moving her way up to management. As a manager, she did payroll and worked a lot with Human Resources- those duties became her favorite aspects of the job. So, she made time to get her HR Certification and that is when she was referred to FLORES.
Starting as an HRPA I at the company in 2022, Maria then got promoted to HRPA II at the end of 2023. She is so grateful that FLORES allowed her to retain her position when moving out of state and transition to remote full-time. Maria appreciated the flexibility and that FLORES allows her to flourish and be self-sufficient.
After moving out of state, Maria has learned the importance of family and making time for loved ones – making sure to Facetime and keep in touch consistently is key. Maria is excited for the next season and holidays coming up, decorating and family visits!
Favorite quote: “So I yield to You and to Your careful hand. When I trust You, I don’t need to understand.” This quote reminds Maria that she doesn’t need to control or understand everything that happens, as she will surrender her worries to God and know everything works out as it should.
Completing her job duties efficiently makes Maria feel accomplished. She stays organized and makes sure to keep a list that helps her prioritize and plan out her day/week. She really enjoys her position and job duties. Maria’s future goals include an interest in a training role but currently she is happy mastering her current role.
