Employee Spotlight-Kelly Fink #8

Kelly Fink, Accounting Associate II

Kelly was born in Agana, Guam and moved to Fresno, CA and Omaha, NE before growing up most of her life in Shreveport, Louisiana (military family). She took a courageous leap and decided to go to college at the University of San Diego where she graduated in 2010 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Kelly started working at FLORES as an Accounting Associate after graduating from USD. She advanced in her roles at the company through the years, eventually becoming a Training Manager, then an Accounting Manager. After getting married in 2018 to her husband Jeff, they made the decision to move to Colorado to be closer to family. Kelly then transitioned her role to an Accounting Associate II in order to accommodate fully remote work. She loves the flexibility that FLORES has offered over the years, especially accommodating their move to Colorado. She also loves the family aspect of the company and truly sees that core value highlighted in the company atmosphere.

Kelly became a mom in 2020, so most of her free time is spent watching her son grow and learn. She enjoys spending the weekends at the park, the zoo, or anything to keep her busy toddler occupied. She also enjoys exercising on her Peloton, cooking, traveling, spending time with family, and sneaking in her favorite reality TV shows.

Kelly’s son, Elliott, is thriving in daycare and speaking in impressive full sentences while constantly keeping her and Jeff on their toes. They love having a very busy 2.5-year-old. She also loves that Elliott gets to grow up near two of his grandparents, as her husband’s family lives over in the Bay Area. As a family, they enjoy a couple trips each year where Elliott visits his other grandparents and all of his cousins.

Providing financial reporting to various restaurants and bars proves to be rewarding for Kelly as she gives the clients a snapshot of their profitability. Given the difficulties of the industry, she enjoys seeing clients dig deep in their reports to see areas where they can improve or are doing well.
