Orens Carlos- Consulting Associate II
Orens grew up in London and San Diego. He went to school in the Philippines and studied business with a minor in marketing. He did an internship in the Philippine Stock Exchange which led him to an interest in finance. He started his career in sales, selling cars and condos, but ended up becoming a stockbroker. He was always interested in business and always shadowed with friends and their families to learn how they ran their own companies. Orens eventually invested in a friend’s idea that became Game Over PH and left before it was rebranded to Take Over Lounge Bar.
Orens moved back to San Diego to be closer to family and ended up getting his masters at UCSD. He likes to learn about random things and enjoys reading non-fiction books, but he took a break from learning after getting his masters. On his free time, he likes to work out and take it easy. Back in San Diego, Orens got a job as a Revenue Analyst that turned into an accounting position and he is now a Consulting Associate II at Flores Financial. His favorite aspect of Flores is the people. Everyone has different backgrounds and experiences and he knows that everyone here has a good heart.
Orens says his closest friends are in the Philippines. Those experiences and memories have changed him in ways he cannot imagine explaining. The quote “Patience is a virtue.” Resonates with him as he feels goals don’t happen overnight. He feels accomplished when he sets long term goals and uses each day as a steppingstone to achieve that goal. Flores is helping him pivot from accounting/finance to IT/software development.
