Named after the owner’s daughter, Valentina, the Mediterranean focused bistro and bar, is located in the Leucadia neighborhood of Encinitas. From the exterior, Valentina appears inviting and cozy, which matches the coastal elegance of the area. Once you step inside, you will find a stylish black-and-white-themed intimate dining space. Over the past five years, Guerra has worked to fine-tune his Spanish-centric concept in terms of dishes, price points, and service.

Guests can delight in fresh oysters daily, including varieties from British Columbia, Washington, and Baja. The Sashimi Mediterráneo is one of the standout dishes on the menu, made with fresh, seasonal fish that will melt in your mouth. The Gambas Al Ajillo (Spanish garlic shrimp) is a popular fan-favorite made with garlic, chile de arbol, and olive oil. The Patatas Bravas are an absolute work of art that tastes as delicious as it looks.

Valentina boasts a unique and ever-changing menu of wine selections with over 120 different bottles from renowned producers. The collection leans heavily into Spanish producers and includes a Grenache-based rosé cava (Jané Ventura) as well as an outstanding, bone-dry orange wine (Kiki & Juan) fashioned from Macabeo, a varietal typically used to produce sparkling vino.
