Leucadia Pizzeria was established in 1980 by Linda and Charles Conover. Linda and Chip quit their day jobs in their twenties to open a small deli, which eventually became Leucadia Pizzeria. Their first location was a small 800 SF restaurant in Leucadia proper (hence the name).

Starting out, the Conovers were not experienced in the pizza business, so when they created their dough recipe it was very unconventional. Turns out, the recipe quickly became a fan favorite and is one of the items unique to Leucadia. All recipes were developed by the owners, who were not chefs by trade, resulting in some unique recipes that don’t follow tradition but have garnered a cult following. Unique pizzas like Pear Gorgonzole, BBQ pizza, and of course number one favorite-Pepperoni, and famous chocolate chip cookies are very popular items at Leucadia Pizzeria. Their chocolate chip cookies were one of their first items on the menu and have become a staple of Leucadia-baked fresh daily and mostly sold boxed-up to-go.

Leucadia Pizzeria is unique because of their focus on delivery. They were one of the first restaurants to offer a full restaurant menu delivered by their own drivers. Leucadia has one of the largest independent delivery operations in San Diego. Customers love Leucadia Pizzeria because of the uniqueness of the dishes, and the longstanding connection they have with the company for over 40 years. Many employees have worked for Leucadia for multiple decades and it truly has not only been a staple in North County but also a second home for many employees.

The Leucadia Pizza restaurants have stood the test of time and look forward to serving the San Diego community for many years. With a full Italian Menu to choose from, they have something for everyone and were voted Best Pizza and Delivery 2024 North County.
