The Knotty Barrel journey began with a vision to offer quality food, great beer, and cocktails at reasonable prices with a fun place to hang out. In 2011, they opened a cozy neighborhood pub, and five years later in 2016, they expanded it by 75% with the addition of a game area, a second bar, and an outdoor backyard and introduced their own in-house craft brewery and tasting room, Knotty Brewing Co.

You’ll find the family-friendly gastropub & brewery located in San Diego’s vibrant downtown East Village neighborhood. Join the Knotty team to dine, drink and socialize or watch your favorite sport team on their 18+ TVs. You can also enjoy a few games of darts, shuffleboard, or cornhole with friends. They even have thought of your furry friend with 2 dog-friendly outdoor patios.

Knotty Barrel proudly features locally sourced food and a selection of over 100 local, domestic, and imported beers, ciders, and seltzers from around the world. Their 24 drafts come in various styles, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Their BBQ was voted San Diego Reader’s Best of 2024, and it is available on weekends starting at 4 pm Friday through Sunday or until sold out. The BBQ menu is all made from scratch on site.

During football season, they offer breakfast on Saturday and Sunday so you can let them do the cooking while rooting on your team. Whether you’re in the mood for a snack, a light lunch, or a hearty dinner, the Knotty Barrel menu is sure to satisfy! AND if you are NY Giants, NY Islanders or Penn St Football fan then they are perfect place to join the fun with their watch party events.
