Employee Spotlight: Leah Dunn

Meet Leah Dunn, Accounting Associate I

Leah Dunn was born in San Diego and resides in Santee.  Leah comes from a large and culturally diverse family. Her mother, is of Spanish descent, and her father is Irish and Scottish. Her parents are  family-focused and enjoy getting together (with 60 family members plus!) for birthday celebrations and barbeques. Leah and her sister, Marissa, grew up as best friends and still do everything together to this day. Much of Leah’s adolescence was dedicated to playing softball and basketball, spending time with her family and at school. 

Before becoming an Accounting Associate I at Flores, Leah worked in multiple fields ranging from a CNA (certified nursing assistant), to retail. It wasn’t until her time as an administrative assistant at D.L. Taylor Plumbing, that Leah discovered a career path that aligns with who she is. She helped with accounting and payroll, and realized what it is she enjoys putting her work time into. Leah started working  with Flores in March of 2018. 

When asked what her favorite aspect about Flores is, aside from the charity events and baseball games, Leah responds, “Flores is an amazing place to work. My day without hearing,‘Whaaat girls!’, from Gabby and Monique, joking with Greg or laughing with Angela, it wouldn’t be complete. Flores has a light and fun atmosphere that distinguishes it from other firms and workplaces.”

Leah has a six year old son named Aiden who is starting first grade in the fall. Aiden loves to swim, hike, play football and baseball, and ride his BMX dirt bike. Oftentimes, they go camping together at the river, desert or beach. 

Family comes first for Leah, but working is what completes her as a person. 

Her life mantra? “Do or do not; there is no try.”
