Nina Younadam – Accounting Associate II
Nina was born and raised in San Diego. She went to SDSU where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. After graduating, Nina wanted a career where she could grow individually and work as part of a team. When she read about FLORES’ family-oriented culture that encourages learning and collaboration, she knew she found the perfect place to start her career.
Nina started as an AAI on the restaurant team, but then she transitioned to the grocery team and enjoyed it more. Nina has just been promoted to AAII on the grocery team, and she loves her new role! Nina’s favorite part of FLORES is the company events where she can have fun and learn more about the people here at work. Her goal is to learn more about accounting and the grocery team so that she can work towards one day becoming a manager.
Nina enjoys learning new languages; she learned Assyrian Neo-Aramaic from her parents and is also an intermediate Spanish learner. Nina hopes to learn Greek and Arabic in the future. Nina also likes to do paint-by-numbers, that currently includes working on a larger image of a lighthouse in a storm. When complete, she finds them beautiful and will display as decor in her home.
Nina’s family is the most important to her. They bought a house about a year ago and have been working together on improving it and making it a home – like cleaning up the backyard so that there was space for a garden of fruits and vegetables. It’s still very small, but there has been progress made in harvesting a couple of things and she hopes to expand to include fruit trees in the future.
Nina’s favorite quote would be: “Rome was not built in a day” – this quote helps remind her to give her best effort every day, whether in a personal or professional setting. Great things take time to be accomplished and should not be rushed. Obstacles and failures should be learning opportunities rather than excuses to give up. She feels most accomplished when she performs tasks that help others, whether that be her clients or teammates.
